Kins + Books

“Henry immediately took to the Kins. He is very sensitive to textures but the Kins are so soft he was able to interact with them without causing overstimulation. The messaging in the books is very positive and removes a lot of negative feedback we noticed our son was receiving. Plus, the open messaging in the Slumberkins books is also open ended enough that we found we could tailor the messaging and skill development to fit what works for our son.”

“Helps with anger and emotional control. We have found this to be the most useful for our son to help reinforce key tools.”

Front view of Dragon Kin plush with two Dragon storybooks on white background, ‘Explore Creativity’ banner above

“Autistic children may not be creative in the way we see allistic or neurotypical children being creative but that doesn’t mean they aren’t. I want to continue to encourage my son to be himself and be creative in his own way.”

Front view of Alpaca plush with two companion books, headline Manage Worries on white background

“Henry went through some medical issues which created a lot of worry and anxiety. We found that Alpaca was very useful during this time and our son would bring him on trips to help him manage his feelings and worries.”

Front view of Yak Kin plush between two Yak children’s books showcasing soft fur and smiling embroidered face on white background

“Develops self-acceptance. Our son is pretty sure he’s awesome so we haven’t used Yak as much yet, but we are keeping him around because as my son becomes more independent there will be more and more people who are contributing to his sense of self- worth.”

Front view of Lynx Kin plush between two Lynx books under Set Boundaries headline, showing soft fur and embroidered face

“Healthy boundaries, self-advocacy. As a neurodivergent child we know our son will face misunderstanding and backlash. We have already seen it happen in meetings with the school, where the expectations on him are unnecessary. We want him to be confident in what he needs and hopefully feel confident enough to speak up for himself when we aren’t there to support him.

Front of Visual Schedule with Sloth showing hanging routine chart with labeled cards and sloth plush, Practice Routines

“Building routines. We have found our son responds well to routines and so we are going to be trying to Sloth routine chart soon."

Front view of Bigfoot Kinspiration Kit with box, play figures, cards, and clubhouse on white, text ‘Establish Friendship Skills’

“Henry is now 6 and the Bigfoot Kinspiration Kits have been amazing for working through his interactions with classmates and for helping him practice for situations that may not have come up yet.”
