Promotes: Self-Acceptance
The world can make us feel like we need to change ourselves to be good enough. Yak’s story introduces children to the concept of self-acceptance, modeling what it means to offer and receive unconditional love. Children are reminded that they don’t need to do or be anything to be loved. They are enough exactly as they are.
Reflect & Connect questions at the end of the story support caregivers with interactive questions that help deepen children’s understanding of self-acceptance and provide a foundation for meaningful discussion.

Perfect addition to our library
Amber on Jul 11, 2023I ordered this book for my son who has recently struggled with perfectionism and feeling like he always has to win. This book covered those feeling perfectly and we love reading it together at bedtime. I love that it has the affirmation at the end he can repeat to himself
Best Book Ever
Kaitlyn Burnham on Jul 8, 2023My 4 year old and I are loving this book. It’s already helping her with her struggle to want to do everything perfectly and it’s opened the door for us to have so many good conversations. The affirmations at the end are so great for her to learn and say to herself at such a young age and are healing my inner child as I say they to myself for her to repeat. 10/10 recommend to everyone!!
Essential to Our Book Collection
Jade on Jan 8, 2023As a parent who was raised to achieve, it has taken me a long time to feel that I am good enough. I knew I wanted to raise my children knowing they are enough. I teared up the first time I read this to my toddler. I was blown away by how much I needed this book in my life and to share it with my toddler to kick-start his life with a mindset of self-acceptance feels indescribably wonderful. This book turned out to be a must-have in our book collection and I am super thankful for it.
